redefining quality in teaching and learning
The Sydney Met Integrated Curriculum Framework shapes the design of the Courses and Units at Sydney Met, enabling constructive alignment among important elements of the Course and Units. The starting point is our Strategic Plan, which includes Graduate Attributes (GAs) – the broad set of qualities, skills and understandings that Sydney Met aspires to enable in our students. Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) for a Course prescribe the requisite knowledge and skills by incorporating and expanding the Strategic Plan and GAs, in alignment with AQF Level requirements.
The Unit Learning Outcomes (ULOs) within each Unit articulate clear links with one or more CLOs and GAs. Unit components, learning activities and assessments are then developed, with clear links between components, mode of delivery and alignment to ULOs and CLOs. Once Units are taught and students are assessed, an evaluation process is undertaken to gauge the effectiveness of the Unit of Study and Course of Study. This involves hearing the voices of students and seeking to understand their experience of the Course and the College. We can then identify areas for improvement and implement strategic measures to improve the quality of our delivery and content.
Sydney Met's campus is located on the unceded territory of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation, who are the traditional owners of the land where the campus is situated. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging. We extend that respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia and Indigenous peoples globally who are presently studying, working, or contributing to Sydney Met.
