We offer academic programs in Social Work, Information Technology and Business Management. Our academics are experienced and culturally diverse, paving the way for solutions to issues impacting our society, business and services. Across our three Departments, we have academic teams working on creating cleaner fuels, faster internet, treatment for chronic illness, and more sustainable ways of living. Our Academic Division includes three departments responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality courses in three disciplinary areas.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in social work and community services. Our Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) is provisionally accredited with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and prepares graduates to work in a range of key areas that change people’s lives through advocacy, social change, community development and casework. Our Master of Social Work (MSW) is undergoing the AASW accreditation process.
Our courses are designed with a focus on critical social work, emphasising the principles of social justice, human rights, and inclusive practice to address the needs of diverse and vulnerable populations. Our courses provide theoretical and practical insights into social work and human and community services field, enabling graduates to make meaningful contributions to social work, service delivery, advocacy, and community development. Student will be exposed to various areas to social work, sociology, policy making, indigenous studies and inter-cultural communication. Our BSW and MSW courses are mandatory 1000 field education components.
Our Department of SWD has an active program of curriculum review, improvement, and innovation to continuously improve the student experience and to increase opportunities for students, including postgraduate degrees currently in development, to further meet the needs of current and prospective students.
All our courses are accredited by TEQSA (Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency) and is consistent with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework). TEQSA regulates qualifications in the Australian education system. This means that Sydney Met is recognised as providing its students with quality education for the courses on offer in line with Australia’s Higher Education Standards.

We offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Information Technology. All our courses are accredited by Australian government agency, TEQSA (Tertiary Education and Quality Standards Agency) and is consistent with the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework). If you’re a graduate looking to specialise in a highly sought-after area of IT, change careers or expand your knowledge in Information Technology, our courses are for you! Our qualifications will equip students with the technical skills and knowledge combined with interpersonal and intercultural skills so students can advance their career in a range of positions in the IT industry.
Our courses are designed for people with IT background as well as for people with little or no background in IT. Our courses have a strong technical focus that will open doors to advancing your career in this rapidly evolving industry—whether you are new to the sector or wish to refresh your skills to get ahead. Industry leaders teach the course, so you get the skills and knowledge to advance your technical career. The information technology sector offers strong employment prospects to people with appropriate skills and qualifications. To work in this dynamic and complex industry, students refresh their knowledge to keep pace with change. In our courses, students will develop foundational IT skills with our hands-on units and tailor their studies to meet their career and professional development goals. Specially, students will develop and extend their foundational IT skills and knowledge in cyber security, AI, and database development to ensure they can add maximum value in the workplace.

Our courses focus on entrepreneurship and business management in the context of changing opportunities and challenges around the world. Courses provide an immersive experience with students from diverse industry, cultural and educational backgrounds. Students will learn the fundamentals of business to gain a grounding in the core aspects of entrepreneurship and business administration and build their strategic business capabilities. They also gain market insights and acquire key knowledge and skills to make informed decisions. Students will gain a holistic strategic business point-of-view required to operate effectively in an increasingly competitive and changing global business world. This course is designed by academics and entrepreneurs who are committed and serious about leading their careers and businesses to new heights. Students will learn how to develop critical strategies to guide their entrepreneurial and business by developing and employing dynamic leadership skills.
Completing the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration provides a pathway to the Master of Business Administration (MBA), with credit for all subjects completed during the Graduate Diploma.
